In order to get the most out of your cardio workout, you must strengthen your core muscles first. And remember, having more lean muscle will also give you a better calorie burn during your cardio workout.
CAN I SPOT REDUCE IN CERTAIN AREAS THAT ARE LARGER THAN OTHERS?
This is an old fitness myth – that it is possible to spot reduce. Unfortunately, it is a myth. On the brighter side, with a proper eating and exercise plan, you can and will lose body fat from all areas. And you can always train those stubborn areas a little more to tone and increase muscle.
WHAT SHOULD I EAT WHEN I WORK OUT?
If you’re eating right before you work out, have a snack of complex carbohydrates and protein. Your daily meal plan should consist of approximately 3 meals a day and 2-3 snacks a day, eating every 3- 31/2 hours. You should have protein at each meal and snack, as a high protein diet will help fuel your metabolism. The remaining portion of your meals should consist of vegetables and fruits, a few complex carbohydrates, and the “good” fats. And always drink lots of water, favoring water over juices and sodas, as they usually contain lots of calories and sugar.
