My son, Will Clark is a wrestler at N.C. State and has for years been very devoted to weight training and conditioning. He started working out with Chris at Personally Fit during the summer of 2015. Will is the most in-shape person I know, so I was surprised how Personally Fit helped him with his nutrition and strength training and moved him from a strong high school wrestler to a strong college wrestler.
Will knew I had struggled with my weight and lack of commitment to a workout program for most of his life. He kept encouraging me to start training at Personally Fit. Since I had started and failed pretty much every weight loss program that exists over the past 18 years, I did not want to spend more money on the next program that I would fail.
In the fall of 2015, both of my kids were in college and I thought that would be the time in my life I would start making time for myself and really dedicating myself to fitness and weight loss. I thought since I had the information from all of the weight loss programs – from years of efforts and failures – I could make this transformation on my own.
The result was I just worked more and more hours and ate even worse. By the end of December I had worked more hours than I ever had for the law firm where I work; I was also at my heaviest weight. I realized finally that something had to change. I asked my husband to purchase a set of personal training workout sessions for me for Christmas with Personally Fit and began working out with one of the trainers, Dawn, the last week of 2015. This decision completely changed my life.
I work out with Dawn twice a week and I am also committed to working out on my own at least 3 other times a week. I also began slowly with changing my diet and habits. The trainers at Personally Fit encouraged me to make life style changes that I could sustain and be satisfied with losing one or two pounds a week on a consistent and healthy plan.
Over the past 5 months I have lost forty pounds and feel completely better now that I am in shape. I found I need to schedule my workouts both with Personally Fit and on my own just like I would a meeting. Dawn also holds me accountable for my weight loss goals and we weigh in every several weeks and take measurements. She also sends me text messages throughout the week for encouragement.
I am very thankful to the trainers at Personally Fit and the encouragement and tools they have provided to me in order that I could become healthier and happier.
