And here at Personally Fit, we still believe it is not too late for all of us to move closer to our summer health and fitness goals! We often hear from clients, “I know how to eat healthy, I know how to exercise.” But they are not doing it…

So maybe it’s time to “go back to school” and redefine knowing.”

Look, if we are not living it, we really do not know it.

Be open to getting some help. The Personally Fit staff is always here for you. And maybe our new PF Nutrition Coaching may be just what you need.

DO IT NOW. Sometimes ‘later’ becomes ‘never.’

Most of us exercise to help us with our weight control. However, if we are always training intensely, sometimes exercise becomes another stressor, and extra stress makes it hard to lose weight.

My advice: Get plenty of exercise but enjoy it. Add some relaxing exercise music and scenery to your routine… make it a soothing part of your day!

Does your supposedly healthy breakfast leave you hungry and tired by mid-morning? Eating only carbohydrates such as whole wheat toast with jam for breakfast can set you up for all day food craving.

The fix? Eat your whole wheat toast but have a couple of eggs with it. Or add peanut butter on your toast; hey, how about a protein shake? Any of these options this will keep you satisfied and maintain a steady blood sugar so you won’t be hungry or fatigued by mid-morning.

Just for this week

If you are not sleeping 7-8 hours a night, you may be sabotaging your will power. Your body and mind heal during sleep.

Some strategies: Turn off all electronics earlier, watch or listen to something soothing, and get to bed ½ hour earlier.

Remember this: Sleep is the fuel of will power.
